|Volunteer: While NZ is responding to COVID-19 – volunteering will take on different forms. It is important any volunteering is undertaken safely within the current alert levels.
Under Level 2 volunteering can re-start following the Level 2 guidelines. This includes following hygiene standards, physical distancing and keeping a system for contact tracing. Training, meetings can re-start with a maximum of 10 people. However, under level 2 – it is still encouraged to volunteer from home if you can and/or volunteer in split shifts.
Some of our general volunteer roles that were on hold during the self-isolation period may now be available.
We will be posting on our FB page and website any direct COVID-19 response roles as they develop.
Current Volunteer Roles in response to COVID-19:
|Connect with your neighbours via phone, email, social media (you could set up a facebook group for your street), letterbox drop or a wave from the letterbox!
Check if anyone that you know within your family/street/local area needs additional help (eg if they are older, living alone or have limited access to online communications). This could take the form of dropping off supplies or providing support and advice on the phone.
|Join online groups: Self-Isolation Support Kapiti (Facebook page, 02041364831 or firstname.lastname@example.org). Coordinating a local student and community led response to supporting people in social isolation.
Check out other online community groups for your area.
